I stumbled upon your substack and this post when I saw you comment on Patti Smith this morning. I had no idea Lucinda had a stroke. How did I miss that? I appreciate watching the 2022 video and seeing how she's doing lately. Do you know if she's able to play guitar? I wouldn't have learned about her upcoming book if I had not seen this. Ordered it today as a birthday present for myself. Thank you!
It's incredible that Lucinda had a stroke. I was viewing her newer videos not so long ago and was shocked by her demeanor and physicality. I thought she had hit the bottle hard! Something was terribly wrong! I researched and learned that she had had a stroke, I think at the end of 2021? She's not playing the guitar yet. Yet. If you look through her Youtube performances you'll see her sitting and singing. Then standing and holding on to the back of a chair. Apparently, she's got a doting husband helping her. Oddly, her voice sounds BETTER than ever and many people are commenting on that. Thank you for stumbling here. Thank you for writing to me. When's your birthday? Mine is March 20.
