Emerson urges all Americans to be nonconformists. He says that our private thoughts are genius, and that this genius is in each American. Yet we shrink from our own truths when we listen to those who speak as Kings. We listen to those with the loudest voices, braggarts who wield wealth and power over us to rule our country, and us, for their own means. We deem these men great. They are not great. We are great. Our insecurity shapes our false beliefs.

Emerson calls to each and every American to speak our individual truths in society. To conform to no voice but our own. We must recognize that our private thoughts are as valid as those voices who speak brashly against our beliefs. We must not buckle. We must not remain silent.

Emerson tells us that we will contradict ourselves, that we will be misunderstood. He reminds us that all great men were misunderstood. We must step outside ourselves, grow backbones. We must let our private truths be known. Our Democracy is at stake. We must not conform to the whims and the agendas of those who have risen above us in stature and power, those who are of Chaos and Darkness. We must be noncomformists. This is our nation…
